About Us

From our specialty in Early Childhood Education, Center for Early Childhood Education Professionals (CECEP) was created to support professionals who own and operate child care facilities that are licensed by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHS).

Past Performances

CECEP, has more than 23 years of experience working in Early Childhood Education and operating licensed childcare facilities. As operating managers, directors and former owners of 6 licensed childcare facilities, we have weathered the storms of being in the business since 1996, and we’re ready to pass the knowledge on to participants of our courses and programs. Our experiences range from starting a licensed facility from scratch, wearing multiple hats which include but were not limited to the role of a cook, teacher, director, maintenance person, janitor, bookkeeper, and so much more. CECEP is hands on familiar with the process of complying with Child Care Licensing standards, known as “Minimum Standards.” These guidelines set by HHS, include a wide range of responsibilities that licensed childcare facilities and homes are expected to follow to STAY in business. The Minimum Standards include but are not limited to ratios for the number of children in a certain amount of space, the number of children per teacher, food and nutrition appropriate for various age groups, submitting background checks and fingerprinting, ensuring that teachers get the appropriate hours in annual trainings, implementing age appropriate activities per age group, designing and implementing age appropriate lesson plans, creating menus and ensuring hazardous items are kept out of reach of children; to name a few.
